Took part in a tyro with the Scottish Land Rover Owners Club on saturday. It took place at Athronhall farm over in Fife. Heavy rain had made conditions very muddy and slippery so conditions were ideal for some fun! Clipped the ten gate on the 7th section although managed to clear the rest of the section. Everyone else took a 10 on this section too apart from the eventual winner who scored 1. I cleared all the other sections so my score of 10 left me in 2nd place so quite happy with that. Respect due to the guy with the new Disco 3, some excellent driving but all the traction control in the world can't save you if you have road tyres on! Good to see they aren't all used for the school run! Plenty of recovery techniques in use as well, had to use a tandem pull to rescue the Disco and my new Kinetic rope was also pressed into service.

Nearly at £3,000!!
Big Red had its first outing yesterday at an RTV. A bad mistake in the last round meant I dropped out of the placings, but I had a lot of fun!

Great news! Just picked up a cheque for £1,000 from Fraser at Rocket Fuel Vodka. This puts us over 50% of our sponsorship target!

Got the new recovery hitch for the back of the Landy. Many thanks to Derek from LRS Off Road for donating it.

The NATO hitch currently on the back is being swopped for this and will be going up for sale once I have serviced it with all proceeds going to Macmillan. The hitch from Equipe 4x4 looks a seriously sturdy bit of kit and will bolt straight on to the rear crossmember. Hopefully it will be used for pulling stricken Jeeps and Mitsubishis rather than for recovering us!!!! Keep a look out for photos of it being fitted on the our vehicle section of the gallery.

Driving lamps all fitted and tested. I pity the young lad in the Corsa I met on the test drive though, he hadn't dipped, so I let him know what full beam really was. Poor chap must've thought the millenium falcon was coming at him :)
And I've fitted high level brake lights!
I see a new job - Land Rover electrician!

Lots of items still for sale, have a look at our For Sale page.
I've been fitting driving lamps to Big Red tonight, only the main power supply left to be attached. Then it's time for a brushed aluminium centre panel on the dash for all my switches!
